A letter written by Jimmy Page to his US pen pal in 1962 is currently being offered for sale at auction.

The letter was sent by Page, then aged 18, to his friend Ronnie Kellerman who ran the Jerry Lee Lewis fan club.

“I might get a Gibson guitar instead of my Gretsch because the electrical side of the Gretsch doesn’t seem to be all that good although it’s a lovely guitar to play,” Page writes in the letter.

The letter is currently up for auction through GottaHaveRockandRoll. It has an estimate between $30,000 and $50,000 and bidding closes on June 7. At the time of writing, there are no bids on the letter.

A different 1962 letter from Page to Kellerman was previously sold online. That letter was also sold for $12,500 in a June 2009 Christie’s auction.

Robert Plant is back on tour with Alison Krauss

Robert Plant is on the road again, this time touring the US with Alison Krauss for another leg of their ongoing world tour.

Plant and Krauss spoke to USA Today for a new interview published in advance of today’s first show of the latest tour.

During the interview, Plant hinted at plans to eventually release new material presumably with Saving Grace. “I’ve been very busy following my north star and reaching into the great old world of R&B for songs I might do something with down the road,” he said when asked what he’s been doing since touring with Krauss last year.
