Led by the charismatic rapper and producer KRS-One (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone), BDP played a significant role in shaping the sound and culture of hip-hop during its formative years.KRS-One, born Lawrence Krisna Parker, founded Boogie Down Productions alongside DJ Scott La Rock (Scott Sterling) in 1985.
