Pearl Jam Dark Matter Tour Bootleg Box Set: Official Recordings From All 48 Shows

Soundboard recordings from the band’s global arena and stadium run are out digitally, with a 2-CD-per-show box set on the way and a custom road case modeled on Jeff Ament’s own.

Pearl Jam is rolling out a massive live archive from its recent global tour, continuing the band’s long tradition of releasing official bootlegs. The collection covers all 48 shows from the Dark Matter Tour’s arena and stadium runs, and it is built from soundboard recordings mixed to preserve an unedited, unvarnished live sound. It is the band’s preferred approach, and it means fans get each night as it was played.

What’s in the Release

  • All 48 shows: The physical and digital collection covers every date across the global stadium and arena runs.
  • Raw soundboard audio: The tracks come directly from soundboard recordings and are mixed cleanly, with no editing of the performances.
  • Two CDs per show: In the physical edition, each show is a 2-CD set with the full, unique setlist and custom artwork specific to that date.
  • A custom road case: Fans who have already collected the single-show CD releases can get a standalone, empty storage box. It is modeled on bassist Jeff Ament’s personal stage dressing-room equipment case.

Availability

The digital files are out now. The band released the complete collection on streaming and download platforms such as nugs.net and its official webstore after the tour wrapped. The physical 48-show box set and the individual show CDs are in pre-order and ship later. Details are on the Pearl Jam webstore.

What You’ll Hear: Dark Matter Takes the Stage

The sets are built heavily around the band’s 12th studio album, Dark Matter, mixed with a rotation of the legacy catalog. Nine songs from the new album made their live debuts on the opening night in Vancouver. “Scared of Fear,” “React, Respond,” “Wreckage,” “Waiting for Stevie,” and “Setting Sun” quickly became fixtures in the main sets.

Deeper cuts and tour debuts were worked in across the dates, including “Wash” as the opening track of the tour, “Go,” “Present Tense,” “MFC,” “All Those Yesterdays,” and “Smile.” Because every night is included, the set shows how the band’s setlists changed from city to city.

Covers and Special Guests

Around 20 percent of the live catalog across the multi-night runs is made up of covers from peer artists.

  • Tom Petty tributes: Eddie Vedder played an acoustic solo version of Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” on multiple dates, using Petty’s own guitar. The band also regularly tagged a lyric from Petty’s “The Waiting” onto “Black.”
  • Special guests: Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and producer Andrew Watt joined the band on Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” the show-closing song.
  • A Canadian request: During the Canadian dates, the band played The Tragically Hip’s “Bobcaygeon” at drummer Matt Cameron’s request.

Production and Visual Design

The official liner and production notes credit former Nine Inch Nails art director Rob Sheridan with the vivid backdrop visuals and custom generative lighting used across the tour’s staging. His work shaped how the shows looked, and it is part of the story the box set documents. Pearl Jam also published a definitive guide to the bootleg catalog covering the track highlights and touring notes.
