Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black 20th Anniversary Edition Brings a Full Vault Concert From Amsterdam

The deluxe set pairs a complete 2007 live show at Paradiso with unreleased demos, rare B-sides, and a new cover pulled from Mark Ronson’s archive.

A 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Back to Black has officially launched, celebrating the legacy of Amy Winehouse’s landmark album, which won five Grammy Awards. Released through UMR/Island, the collection brings a wealth of archival material out of the vault across 3LP, 3CD, and digital formats.

The centerpiece is a full vault recording of her 2007 concert at Amsterdam’s Paradiso, a show that captures Winehouse at the height of the Back to Black era. For longtime fans, the set is a chance to hear the album’s songs the way she performed them on stage, with a band behind her and a room listening closely.

The Vault Highlights

  • Live at Paradiso, Amsterdam 2007: The defining highlight is the complete 14-track live performance from February 8, 2007. The concert documents Winehouse at the peak of the album’s cycle and is available in full on vinyl and CD for the first time.
  • Unreleased demos: The package includes four previously unreleased studio demos. Among them is a stripped-down, skeletal version of the global hit “Rehab.”
  • Rare B-sides and bonus tracks: The release gathers the full set of rare B-sides and deluxe-era cuts connected to the album cycle.

The demo of “Rehab” will draw the most attention. The finished version is one of the most recognizable songs of the 2000s, and a raw early take shows how much of its character was in place before the full arrangement came together.

Physical Packaging and Artwork

  • Alternative cover art: The deluxe set replaces the traditional imagery with an unreleased alternative cover drawn from producer Mark Ronson’s archive, overlaid with Winehouse’s handwritten lyrics.
  • Archival photography: The inserts feature previously unseen photographs from the original album sessions, taken by photographers Mischa Richter and Alex Lake.
  • Producer liner notes: The release includes new written commentary and retrospective notes from the album’s primary architects, producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi.

The liner notes carry particular weight. Ronson and Remi shaped the album’s sound, which blended classic soul and girl-group arrangements with Winehouse’s jazz-inflected voice, and their recollections give fans a firsthand account of how the record was made.

Where to Buy

The physical configurations, including the Deluxe Ultra Clear 3LP and Zoetrope picture disc versions, are available now through the Official Amy Winehouse Store and through major music retailers such as rarevinyl.com and Music Direct. The set is also available digitally.

Twenty years on, Back to Black remains one of the defining albums of its generation, and the Paradiso concert in particular offers a close, unfiltered look at the artist behind it.
