Dweezil Zappa’s “DZ20: Like Father, Like Son” Tour Marks 20 Years of Playing His Father’s Music
The fall run, now under way across North America, mixes classic compositions with rare Zappa Vault material and a new wearable audio system that lets fans shape their own mix.
Dweezil Zappa’s “DZ20: Like Father, Like Son” 2026 Tour celebrates exactly two decades since he first hit the road in 2006 to keep his father Frank Zappa’s sprawling, avant-garde musical legacy alive. The fall trek kicked off on October 29, 2026, and is routed across North America through December 5.
Hybrid Arrangements and Vault Material
True to the “Like Father, Like Son” theme, the shows focus on hybrid musical arrangements that weave classic compositions together with rare, unreleased deep cuts from the Zappa Vault. The tour is not a note-for-note cover show. It highlights the layered rhythms and orchestral rock fusion that defined Frank Zappa’s writing.
Immersive Audio Technology
A technical standout of this tour is the integration of PEEX Immersive audio. Fans at the shows can use specialized wearable tech and a companion app to hear a personalized, high-definition mix live in the venue. The system lets listeners isolate or raise specific instruments, such as Dweezil’s guitar solos, in real time.
November and December Itinerary
The tour is working through the Northeast before heading into Canada and then west.
The route between Toronto and El Cajon also passes through Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and St. Louis. Ticketing options, VIP packages, and schedule updates are on the official Dweezil Zappa tour page and through Live Nation.
