Mosquito Creek Music presenting concert this Saturday

Article content

The Nanton Community Memorial Centre Society, in partnership with Mosquito Creek Music Nanton, has been searching for ways to make the centre more community oriented and to find ways of increasing its usage in a post-COVID world.

Mosquito Creek Music (MCM) started Open Mic Sessions at the Nanton campground in the spring of 2020 when inside gatherings were not possible. For three summers now these sessions regularly attract great musicians and a crowd has often reached 100.

In November 2021 indoor Open Mic Sessions, which take place every Wednesday after Jan. 11, started, as well as full concerts.

MCM has since presented Mark Perry, Tim Isberg, Terry Morrison, My Son Ted and John Hewitt.

First up in 2023 Mosquito Creek Music present Shaye Zadravec Saturday, Jan. 14 and The Wardens Feb. 25.

Doors to this Saturday’s concert open at 7:30 p.m., with Zadravec taking to the stage at 8 p.m.

Tickets cost $25 per person in advance, and can be purchased at “Because I Said So” or from Mike at 587-582-7557. Tickets are $30 at the door.

The Nanton Community Memorial Centre is located at 2204 18 St.
