Strike a pose — global pop icon Madonna is embarking on a 35-city tour across the U.S. and Europe later this year, with plans to stop at Chase Center in San Francisco on Oct. 4.
The Celebration tour — which was just announced in a video that served as a nod to her 1991 documentary “Truth or Dare” — will reflect on four decades of the star’s career, including early chart-topping hits like “Crazy for You,” “Like a Virgin” and “This Used to Be My Playground” from the film “A League of Their Own.”
At every show, she’ll be accompanied by special guest Bob the Drag Queen, the legendary musician and comedian who won the eighth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
A Live Nation presale is scheduled to begin Thursday, Jan. 19, with the code “SOUND,” and tickets officially go on sale to the public Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. Pacific time. Legacy members of Madonna’s official fan club will also have access to presale tickets on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 7 a.m., and Citi cardholders can purchase tickets later that afternoon at 2 p.m. VIP packages, which will include a behind-the-scenes tour, photo opportunities and more, will also be available for purchase.
“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna said in a press release Tuesday.
The best-selling female recording artist of all time made her last appearance in San Francisco in 2019, when she had a three-day residency at the Golden Gate Theatre for “Madame X,” her latest album.
On this tour, Madonna’s stop in San Francisco is one of two concerts in California; she’s also scheduled to perform at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sept. 27. View the full list of tour dates at Madonna’s website.
