Lewis Capaldi To Headline Summer Concert At Wythenshawe Park

Summer of 2023 is shaping up to be a good ‘un. With Hacienda Classical returning to Castlefield Bowl, Parklife back for another year and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds playing a special homecoming concert it’s going to be a great summer for music. However, adding to the summer sizzle is two-time BRIT Award winner Lewis Capaldi, who will be coming back to Manchester for a special outdoor show at Wythenshawe Park.

Taking place on Friday 25th August 2023, Wythenshawe Park will host a major outdoor summer concert for the first time ever, headlined by the Glaswegian singer songwriter, performing tracks from his upcoming album. The announcement follows the well-received release of Lewis Capaldi’s brand-new single ‘Pointless’, co-written by Ed Sheeran, from Capaldi’s upcoming sophomore album ‘Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent’, which will be released in May.

Capaldi’s new album follows a similar template, musically and thematically to its predecessor ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’, certified as the biggest-selling UK album of both 2019 and 2020, with tracks ‘Hold Me Why You Wait’ and ‘Before You Go’ both reaching No. 1 in the UK Top 40 chart.

Lewis Capaldi first emerged in 2017, with his first single ‘Bruises’ which quickly amassed close to 28 million plays on Spotify worldwide, making him the fastest ever unsigned artist to reach 25 million plays on the platform. Today, he is recognised as one of the most successful and critically acclaimed artists of his generation, earning Grammy and Ivor Novello nominations, and breaking a world record in becoming the first artist in history to sell out an arena tour prior to the release of a debut album.

Returning to Manchester this summer for a special outdoor headline show, Lewis Capaldi is set to charm Wythenshawe Park with a staggering world-class performance. Pre-sale will go live on Thursday 19th January and general sale will go live on Friday 20th January. Tickets will be available from Ticketmaster, See Tickets, as well as Gigs and Tours.
