SEX worker turned stand-up comedian Bella Green has tragically died aged 38.
The heartbreaking news of her passing was shared by pals who described her as a ‘deeply cherished friend’ in a hilarious tribute to the late star.
In a Go Fund Me page set up to help with funeral costs, the sex worker’s mates joked that many of her clients will miss her services in the brutally honest obituary.
They described her as a ‘writer, comedian, massive hooker, public toilet aficionado and deeply cherished friend’ who ‘leaves behind a large community of grievers’.
The funds will also go towards the care of her two beloved cats.
Her case of death is currently unknown but pals thanked those who ‘knew and cared for her’.
In an updated post, friends announced that the fundraiser had surpassed their expectations and that it was clear a huge amount of mourners would attend her funeral.
Bella, from Melbourne, made a name for herself on the comedy circuit with her upfront ‘Bella Green is Charging For It’ tour.
She started her career telling jokes in brothels before her tour was awarded Best Comedy at the Adelaide Fringe in 2020.
Her memoir Happy Endings where she shared secrets about the adult industry was also a big hit after its release in 2021.
She was well respected in the LGBTQ community who shared their grief at her tragic passing.
Scarlet Alliance, a Twitter support page for sex workers paid tribute to Bella.
A post read: “It is with deep sadness that we let you know that Bella Green, a sex worker, comedian, author, and cherished friend passed away last week.
“We extend our condolences to those who knew and cared for her, and all of our community who are impacted by this awful news.
“Bella embodied so many of the qualities that make our community special: kind, caring, irreverent, brash, outspoken and brave.
“In her time here with us, she contributed so much to the sex worker movement and the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.”
Others commented: “Bella was a wonderful person who will be so dearly missed by many.”
Another added: “I’ll always cherish my friendship with Bella. She was awe-inspiring and I’m so grateful that she was a part of my life.”
