On Friday night, Dead & Company opened up their Final Tour at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif. During the two-set performance the band, consisting of Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane ran through an assemblage of fan favorites, plucked from the Grateful Dead’s extensive songbook.

The evening’s initial frame brought forth renditions of “Shakedown Street,” “Cold, Rain and Snow,” “Mississippi Half-Step,” “They Love Each Other,” as well as the three-part pairing of “St. Stephen,” “William Tell Bridge” into “The Eleven.”

After capping the first set with Jerry Garcia’s “Deal,” more classic numbers ensued, including takes on “Sugaree,” “New Speedway Boogie,” “Eyes of The World,” “Estimated Prophet,” and others. On the ground was photographer Stevo Rood, who shared select shots from the Friday night kick-off.
